Couple of questions:

What zone is the tree in?

Are these Spring-time photos? Do the leaves look like this through the Summer or do they turn greener?

I've got an idea, but need these questions answered ...

The pictures were taken about a month ago. I saw the tree today and the leaves are not greener. They are more yellow now and the green veins are not as intense.

This tree is in zone 5 - Denver metro.
There are a lot of them in the neighborhood - evidently it was a tree the builder - Melody Homes - put in quite often.

I should note that trees in Denver were very late in full leafing this year. So though the pictures were taken in June they could be more representative of what May time frame trees usually look like in the Denver area

I'm not 100% sure, but it sure reminds me of Acer pseudoplatanus 'Puget Pink' (see link below - click on the picture to enlarge). Not sure because the pink is strongest only in Spring, then gradually fades to a light green. Also odd that there are more in the neighborhood. Seems to me a builder would use a more-common tree. Anyway, it's a real beauty!

Sorry to change the subject, but what is your experience with Mendocino Maples? I was thinking of ordering from them -- anyone want to comment?

In my experience Mendocino is completely legit: good plants and knowledgeable seller, fair shipping, good packaging.

Probably a Red or Freeman Maple variant that has not been selected, propagated and named.

'Puget Pink' is belongs to a different species, produces mottled leaves with purple undersides and is too new on the market to be this big.
