Hi Devorah,

Anything sprouting below the graft needs to be removed. Anything above leave well alone until the plant is more established. Nothing should really be sprouting from the graft itself, if so I would remove that also.

You can simply run your fingers along the root stock removing any sprouts below the graft as long as they are not to big. Anything larger just snip off. It will not affect the graft.
