Maple Sapling in Shock :C

I grew a maple sapling that was about 1cm tall from my neibor's yard. I grew it in a cup of water till it was about 6 inchs. I transplanted it in some nice miracle grow soil and all the leaves began to dry up and wilt and die!

I don't know what to do, or if my sapling is now dead. All the leaves have dried up. Will it produce new growth or just die?

Was it growing in water, or in a cup of soil?

Did you put it into direct sun after the transplanting?

Miracle Grow is generally very crappy soil.

I am glad to hear you say that that stuff is overpriced crap.

Just plant another seed in soil instead of water
