Atrolineare leaf oddities

Hi all!
I am finding on my Atrolineare that strap leaves are also accompanied by regular maple leaf shaped leaves. I'm not certain if this is a good or bad thing!

I've always understood one should remove leaves that don't match, as in variegated plants showing non-variegated leaves should have the latter removed. I know to remove anything growing off the root stock.

If I were to pinch off all these off-type leaves, it would remove a LOT of foliage.

I guess I'm just asking if is normal, should I do anything, or is my tree just reverting. Almost every hybrid I buy reverts, so this wouldn't surprise me.

BTW. This Atrolineare has been in southern Maryland full sun and drought conditions with practically water no since 2004. It's beautiful. I love that its bark turns black in the fall.

Anyway...
