I planted a 6 ft Red Leaf Japanese Maple (Acer Palmatutum Var. Atropurpureum in June and now it has white patches on the the leaves and some are even holes. It looks like it could be something eating it but I don't see any sign of bugs. There are just patches of white holes and destroyed leaves. I'll admit that I don't want water the tree. It gets rain water only.

White patches could be sunburn, especially since you don't water it. But pictures would help us a lot. Can you post some please?

If you think its bugs eating it, you can spray the tree with a product called 'Eight'. But posting pics will help. I wish I knew how to post pictures ....anyone?

1. Open a Photobucket or other pix sharing account. Its free.
2. Download your pix there. 800x600 (or there abouts) is a good size. Not too big, not too small. You select the size B-4 downloading.
3.Copy the HTML code and paste it into your post. When you preview your post, you'll see the pix.
