Mikawa Yatsubusa is a true dwarf with tightly clustered leaf nodes, creating a layered or shingled effect on a rather stubby looking plant. It can get a lot bigger than 3' ( I know of one locally that is around 15') in time but growth is slow. Leaf color is a grassy green and turns red in fall.

Shishigashira has smallish, contorted foliage (smaller than MK) but gets to be a fairly decent size.....12-15'. Leaf color is a very dark green and fall color is yellow - not spectacular.

Both are quite sun tolerant although I'd rank Shishigashira as more sun tolerant because of the much darker foliage color.
