I bought a Crimson Japanese Maple about a year and a half ago.
It was beautiful, burgundy and full. I planted it in a large pot. More than big enough. I placed it on my patio where the hot desert sun first turned all the leaves green then they had burnt tips and ultimately all the leaves fell off. I read that they may come back the following year which they did. I should mention that I brought the tree into the house for the winter and the leaves came back in April. But they came back on only half the tree. The bottom half! The top never came in. I had left the tree inside as to not have the desert sun burn them again.However. by August the leave started falling off and never had turned Burgundy again.I have moved the tree outside again thinking it may need sun. But I do not know what to do for my tree. Can you help me?...Jo Ann
