Vine maple has red, falling leaves already

Planted early this spring, one of my vine maples has shown reddish leaves all summer like they were sunburned. Now, in early September with still warm weather, 90% of the leaves are bright red and some are already falling.

Being a new tree, it's received drip irrigation daily for the first growing year as instructed and the soil is good and damp. My question is: Is this red leaf condition anything to worry about as in should I fertilize the tree right now? Should I let the leaves fall and wait until early spring for fertilizer?

I read that red leaves on maples can be a condition of poor nitrogen in the soil. Is it worth applying some fertilizer now? Thanks for your help...
