How should I care for this tree?

About a month ago Aug 9, I grafted a twig from a Sugar Maple in a relatives yard onto a Silver Maple seedling using a grafting technique that is cross between a side veneer graft and a T-Bud graft.

We'll the graft turned out to be successful and it's already budding out at the terminal bud and is growing leaves. The tree is in a pot and wondering how to care for it this winter? I'm not sure if it will harden off before it got to cold. The reason it's budding out now is because it already cut the rootstalk back halfway forcing it to bud and thinking I should've waited until spring to force it bud out.

Should I keep it in the house this winter or will it have time to grow and harden off? The leaves are just now starting to come out.
