Help me pick a maple

Hello maple experts! I was wondering if you could help me pick a maple for my new house. I want the leaves to be green, easy maintenance(no to little amount of helicopters), and no taller than 30'

I'm not interested in the Silver Maples, if that fits my criteria.

Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch!
Nikki

Look at one of the Freeman hybrids - these are crosses between silver and red maples. Very hardy, tolerant of a range of soil conditions and they do not get huge. But all maples will produce samaras (helicopters) - you cannot get away from that :-))

Here is a link that might be useful: Acer x freemanii

Gardengal is right, specifically I would chose Autumn Blaze. Of all red maples I have planted this is the best for quick growth, vigor, beauty. Fall color far superior to other cultivars IMHO.
