Newly Acquired A.P. Osakazuki

We just acquired a very strong looking JP Osakazuki and am looking for the ideal place to plant it. From what I read, the information is conflicting on sun vs. shade. I know that JM usually need shade, but it appears that this tree is a bit more resilient in harsher climates. Both of my locations have part shade, but get full sun for 2-3 hours before noon. The main element in question is wind. One location near a window gets a bit more wind than the other location, which is further away. So my questions is is this tree more resilient to wind than other JMs? Or is it just as fragile. I appreciate your input in advance.

No Japanese maple will be very happy in a very exposed, windy location. The foliage tends to be more delicate on these types of maples than most other species and can desiccate easily. Wind only in winter when the tree is leafless is far less of an issue:-) I'd be more concerned about locating the tree away from any particularly windy locations in favor of more sun -- FWIW, 2-3 hours is not excessive and in fact may not be sufficient to develop really good fall color, which 'Osakazuki' is known for.
