Should JM Bloodgood be trained for a single leader

I just bought a lovely Bloodgood. It had been nestled in a back corner of the garden center where the lighting was hitting it from only one side. Now its branches all bend up in one direction (obviously in the direction of the light at the garden center). Now that I've planted it in my yard, it will receive even lighting and I'm hoping the braches will straighten out. However, I have staked them to help straighten them out but I wonder about the leader. Should it have one leader, and if so, should I straighten it as well. Currently, the leader and another branch are equally competing for the leader position but only because the side branch is bent up so badly. See my really crude drawing ...
