Orangeola - where to plant for best performance?

I have two new Orangeola JMs. I picked Orangeola because they, apparently, fair well with lots of sun/heat, relative to other JMs.

Our climate gets very hot and dry in the summer with some occasional warm winds. There are a couple months of 90+f heat, up to 112f or so. We only had three days at 100f this summer, which was an all time low. Anyway...

Because of our dry heat, should I plant this maple in morning sun/afternoon shade? I am reading conflicting advice online.... "prefers as much sun as possible" .... as well as "shade in afternoon".

Last question.... how close to a structure/house would you plant this maple? If I need to find a spot with afternoon shade, it will need to be near my house...

THANK YOU!
