Maple seedling transplant advice needed

Hello All. I live in South Caroling, zone 7b, where we have clay soil. I have a maple seedling growing near a fence post I would like to transplant in my yard before my husband weed wacks it away! lol. It's about a foot tall, and I can't leave it hear much longer as it is growing too close to the fence, so the root system will likely start going in all different directions making it difficult to dig out later. Please give me some transplant advice, on how to move it, how big a hole I should create, and do you think I should put a chair over the tree temporarily to guard from heavy sunlight? Cooling down here, temps are normally in the seventies during the day. It will be planted in an open space where it will get full sunlight all day. Lastly, I do not plan to amend the soil, as I obviously want it to grow a much deeper root system then a hole I would dig. Am I correct? TY!
