YIKES!!! Over-priced!!! You would do much better buying from Topiary Gardens or EastFork Nursery. They offer large, robust plants - twice the size of the ones Klehms is offering - for the same price.

I am so glad to see this post. Kaitain4 thank you so much for the recomendation. I actually bought 2 from Eastfork on ebay and they are out for delivery today. I'm so excited to see them. I bought a couple of grafted maples from some other ebay stores and was delighted to see that eastfork are not grafted. I'm still planning to add some more and it didn't even dawn on me to go to their website. Again thanks

I'm curious why you are delighted that the plants are not grafted. The best root stock for a JM is the basic, vanilla acer palmatum. JMs are usually grafted to that root stock making them more hardy and more disease resistant.

I too am wondering why you say the Maples were not grafted . Very few in the trade are not grafted . Some are budded which will give you a smaller plant for the first years . A grafted plant is a nice heavy plant in 1 or 2 years .
Some nurserys root Bloodgood maples but not the rare cultivars . I would much rather have a grafted Maple .
