potted maple in NYC never turned color...

I have a potted acer palmatum dissectum (Japanese maple) that's maybe three years old. In the Fall it usually turns a light orange. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the weather we had this year but...my maple has yet to turn color. Shouldn't it have turned by now, and if so, then is there any significance to the fact that mine did not?

My tree otherwise looks healthy though the ends of the leaves are perhaps a bit dry/brown looking...but I guess that's to be expected at the very least, with us heading into the Winter... But it's the no color thing that has me wondering...

Thanks!
