Funny it's turning so late. I had a couple for years, they colored in September. I think that is supposed to be typical for this cultivar. So I wonder about the identification.

It has been an unusually warm and dry fall in st louis. The ash and walnuts dropped leaves early as always. A good number of other trees are quite behind schedule.

With some luck I will remember to check this one out next year see if the same lateness holds.

A bunch of different maples and other trees still in leaf or in the process of dropping here also.

Too bad about that girdling root.

Red Sunset turns late here, not as late as October Glory, but almost.

Arktrees

Mine looked like what originator of the cultivar appears to show today. Florescent orange dominance to the color, at the start of the season when it is still sunny. Notice the one leaf shown with the larger side lobes and quite irregular margin, mine produced many with this same shape. They grew maybe 30' tall before I decided they were going to dominate too much of the back yard and took them out.
