Blue moon hosta with a Crimson Queen Japanese maple.

I won't bore folks with a picture, but right now my only combination is JM, snow and rabbit protection.

The color combination is quite beautiful but I have several general gardening comments for your consideration.
1. I believe the tree is planted too low since I can't see the root crown and this can lead to root rot.
2. Your ground cover is getting too close and is competing for water with the roots going out to the drip line,

How about another Japanese Maple? These two have Ajuga as a groundcover.

I just added an Alaskan Fern to my Sango Kaku planting.
