Coral bark japanesse maple...

Hello, I am here to describe my dire problem, ok, here goes:

Some 30 days ago, I re-potted my maple and I found half-dozen worms, I replaced the soil and disposed of worms. But, 2 weeks ago, tips of the branches started going black and leaves fell off. The tree is about 4 years old, and was fine the year before just up until re-potting. As it is, the tree stands in the same place as before, in shaded area and has enough sunlight. Please tell me what should I do...

Like other grafted Japanese maple cultivars this often blights off anyway. The bugs probably had nothing to do with it. Internet garden forums get tons of questions about diseased Japanese maple trees.
