 o
herb plants wholesale?

Hi - i am new here...so hello to one and all.
My herb club is thinking of buying herbs in 4" pots to sell at the local market. Does anyone have a good supplier - as we are going into this quite blind and would like any and all tips and pointers from all of you professionals!
Thank you in advance.

If you want them to come to you in 4" pots you should try to locate a commercial grower who is fairly close to you and see if they will deliver.
I would check with the market where you intend to sell. One of the markets to which I belong will not allow you to sell plants you did not grow yourself and the other, while not expressly forbidding it, is not happy about it. As a grower/wholesaler/retailer I find that is a good rule.

If yours is an herb club, that should mean you've got lots of herbs in the gardens. Please consider propagating them rather than offering the farmers' market customers the same things they can find in garden centers. Your plants will be backed by your own experience growing that variety in the area you sell. In fact, they will be YOUR plants.

I agree with Bob Piper and you will find that your neighboring vendors will too. If you sell in a market that permits resellers of potted plants, I doubt if you will find it a very profitable experience. The BEST markets for the vendors and customers are grower-only.
