My son had a Ebay business, video games, and there were some months that the 'fees' added up quite a bit. Of course, this depended upon how many things he listed, what price he started his list at and how much sold. Bad thing is those fees are added up and charged once per month. In his case, the sales took off very well and he couldn't keep up with the number of sales. All of a sudden the fees hit, and it was a shock for him. He done his Ebay business for about 2 years before this recession hit and sunk his business.

I've sold over 500 items on Ebay. Mostly Lionel Train parts. Haven't not sold there in a while. Once Ebay purchased Paypal, Paypal was pretty much forced on all Ebay Sellers. With the listing fee, final value fee, and Paypal's cut, not sure it's worth it. I never excepted credit cards. Many sales were done with a check. It was recommended to wait for clearence befroe shipping product.

My son was lucky that all of his non-paypal were honored at the bank, I think he got mostly MO instead of checks. He did get a few checks, which of course he waited til they cleared.
