i use the soil mix recipe in Eliot Coleman's New Organic Grower and have great success with it for the past 14 years or so. I am not certified organic but I was for 8 years and that is what I used. I know a lot of people who are certified organic like a mix called Sunshine Mix.

What you want to look for with commercial mixes is if there is a wetting agent-it is the wetting agent that nixes organic certification use as almost all are derived from a petroleum product. You don't have to worry about the other ingredients unless there is a fertilizer in the soil mix

Have you asked your certifier about this or checked out http://www.omri.org? Both should answer your questions better than this or any forum
