Do you have shade trees or a garage that is cooler than in the sun? Use a fan to circulate the air. That helps, but you will need to keep some humidity for some veggies. Even an old refrigerator that doesn't keep things really cold, just cool, will help.

I don't refrigerate much, just pick the previous day for the market. My biggest problems were beans, and now I put them in a refrigerator (leftover/reject from apt complex) and keep it as high as possible without shutting it off. It's under a shade tree to help also. I don't pack it full, needs some air circulating.
