My plants are looking good, some of them were 8" tall before I transplanting into 4" pots. Most are not leggy, but very sturdy plants. I just finished up-potting 160 plants into 4" pots. The leggier ones get buried deeper. I will be starting by 2nd seeding in the next week or so. I will be having a 3rd planting early in April for the 1203 bedding plants. Our frost date is 4/15 and we have had a frost as late as Mother's Day. By starting several times, I'll have extra plants just in case of a late frost.

My first seeding will become 5 gallon pots for patio/container gardeners. Second seeding becomes larger plants, usually 4" or 1 gallon pots, depending upon the size of the plant. Third seeding is the ones that will be for those people that want smaller plants for mechanical transplanters. Those machines like smaller plants so that it won't tear the plants up when planting.

PS. I don't recommend any one starting their plants as early as I do unless they are prepared to baby their inside of their home. I've done it for years now, and have no other life.
