Wholesale pricing of Heirloom Plants

Posted by jmwlr 7 (My Page) on

Hi,

I'm in the Charlotte, NC area. I am starting a bunch of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, etc. this year and will try to provide some local retailers with plants to resell. I'm using flats with 4-pack liners.

My problem is that I'm clueless on how to price the plants wholesale. I don't want to run them off with high prices, but I also don't want to do this for nothing.

Can anyone lend me some advice?

Thanks,

jw

RE: Wholesale pricing of Heirloom Plants

This is just a suggestion. Look around and see what the prices are for regular tomato plants are selling retail and offer the wholesale people approximately 3/4 of what the regular plants sell for. That way, they can charge more and still make some money. Example, If regular 4 packs sell for $1.00/4 pk, you would charge .75/4 pk and the wholesaler could charge $1.50/4 pk.
