| Did some research today at the Sweetwater Creek Farm Market in Tampa. I was really surprised how supportive and friendly folks were, even though I'd be another vendor (if I succeed in getting this off the ground!) Also, the produce from the farm was AMAZING! I've never seen such beautiful produce. The people I've talked to said that the growing season really slows down here from June until the first fall harvest in early October. There is one year-round market in Ybor City, but it seems more like a prepared food and craft market than a farmers market. One encouraging thing- one fellow I talked with raises all his produce out of his back yard, which is much smaller than mine! |
