You can find alot of cheap cultivators but picking is a chalange and many people give up because of the labor. I usually pick all my beans during the dark hours prior to a market. I figure I can pick as fast with a headlamp as during daylight but I usually pull all plants as I pick, it saves time and energy and I plant for this practice. Two benefits come from this: 1. Everyone loves the freshness, 2. you get to appreciate the quietness of a calm night. One word of caution: watch out for skunks.
