Well, bc we put 8" of 15yr or older cow manure in my new HT there is alot of grass type weeds. We put the chickens in the HT to scratch around for 2 wks, then I tilled both directions, put the chickens back in for 2 more wks. Now I have my rows and foot lanes all marked with heavy string.
My ? is, do you think it would work OK to put 4" or more of oat straw over the whole HT floor/ground. I have the use of a chipper/shedder for a full day, we have about 300 sq bales of 2yr old straw. The shedder will do a whole bale at once. This will be so much faster then doing it with our hammermill, but just as fine/chopped
