I would not use it. A good mulch keeps the weeds away and consistant soil moisture and temp. Get yourself some 6-24-24 and ring the plants around the flowering stage(determinates)for in-determinates I use 6-24-24- - - 2-3 times spaced out about 3-4 weeks during season, your tomatoes should be beautys. we had 2 vendors that tried it a few years ago. I checked with one of them the next year, it didn't work well enough to use for a second year for him.

I tried it. It was expensive and didn't work. Then again it was a flood year.

It seemed to work somewhat. I weeded before I threw it down. The deer were interested in it and the granules left little moldy bits on the soil.

I use it on some things and can get it for $20/40lb sack at the feed store. It works double as a nitrogen fertilizer so I have never used it on onions or root veggies. I love it on brassicas.
It is not super effective against weeds. When you are talking about your lawn it takes a couple years to see a result. My husband hates it but I think our lawn looks good. Since we use no chemical products on it it needs some fertilizer from the CGM.
