You maybe required to have a "egg handlers license" and a "nursery license" if you are selling eggs and woody plants. Vegetable plants and produce, no license required in Washington State. Joining here is a simple exchange of money, no contracts. A Legal Scale is also required if selling by the pound.

I would figure out the markets closest to you and give the co-ordinator a call. The NY Ag Department has a list of markets by county with contacts and dates. Find a good one and good luck.

Here is a link that might be useful: NY State Markets

go online and check out 'farmers markets, ny' and you may find some nearby. Each farmers market have different rules and regulations, besides the state regulations.

Every market has their own rules & regulations. In addition some states have rules to. I would check with your local Farmers' Market and ask them for rules & regulations regarding their market.

Most are fairly lenient, but rules should be in place to make sure every one is treated fairly.
