tomato trellis?

I'm looking for ways to improve the way I stake tomatoes. I currently take 5 ft. concrete wire and cut it in lengths 10 ft. long. I bend these the narrow way to form a 10 ft. long tent shape. I then place these between 2 rows and the plants lay on them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried cages, but it takes too much room for storage.

I use a Florida weave. Once you get the hang of how to do it, it is very quick and easy. This is how I support my tomatoes in a hoop house and also some outside. It does away with the cage storage issue.

Google florida weave. I usually do a post between every two plants.

RE: tomato trellis?

i have been struggleing with this for some time... i have 4 200 ft rows of tomatoes this year but only one row of that is a indeterminate variety.. all the others are determinate meaning they grow more like bushes with no need for staking or suckering, only thing is they dont produce all season like indeterminate so succession planting is required i am putting 20 plants at a time in each of the remaining rowss and i plan to give this florida weave a try with the row of indeterminates. i have tried similar methodes in the past with some luck but over time you do need to tighten the line so they stay up. it seames like a great way to keep em up to me but i am still kinda new at this
