Insect Barriet Asain Green Salad Mix

Hey all,

First off, thanks to all the members who post so much great info on this forum. It's been very educational and inspirational. I've been lurking around for almost a year now but this is my first post. I'm in my first year of production on a small (~1.2 acres) plot of land.

This weekend (hopefully) I'll be sowing beds of Asian greens for a summer salad mix. I have quite the problem with flea beetles so I am going to use an insect barrier for protection. My question is how do you guys support your row covers for salad mix greens? I use concrete reinforcement wire bent into a U shape for early larger crops. But, since the greens will only be several inches off the ground I'd like to save material and not make hoops that go 2 1/2 or so feet off the ground. Does anybody know of a good way to make a low support system? I get a good amount of wind here do I'm worried the greens would get too damaged with just a floating row cover. Thanks for any advice you guys have.

Chris
