I have tons of trees on my new property and wondered if they might sell. They are very messy but are great in my smoothies.

I sold 5 bunches of nettle a few weeks ago, so anything is worth a try. You might get some customers who ate them as kids but don't have access to a tree now. You should probably pick them right into pints, like you would raspberries or any other berry.

Give potential customer your smoothie recipe -- even if you had them as a kid and over 50, smoothies weren't really an item then. Loved mulberries, but my mother dreaded wash day when mulberry season was on -- birds liked them, too.

Harvest by laying out a sheet or tarp and shaking the tree branches. They are ripe when they fall. Gather up and wash/sort, pat dry. Some of the native mulberries have an insipid flavor, but perhaps yours were planted on purpose then the birds spread them around. Nancy

What are the growing conditions for mulberrys? I remember buying them at a farmers' market for quite a bit of money... Now that you jog my memory, I'm curious to see whether or not you could grow them in cooler climes....
