Lost my first plantings

About a month ago, I transplanted about 450-480 Sugar Snap peas. It rained on them a couple of times but they looked good - I could see them standing up from 250-300 feet away. Then the monsoons, often dumping 1.5-3" of rain at a time hit. I checked today, up close and personal, and three plants were still in the ground. The rest washed away.

The ground slopes but nothing significant - maybe a 1.5' over a 220' row. So it looks like I will have no choice but to run the rows east/west rather than north/south - if I can ever get back into the garden to work.
