I planted a few rows of Radish and it seems I planted to early because a bunch of them have gone to seed. I have not really ever grown Radish. I personally dont like radish so I am not sure what a good tasting radish taste like.

So the question is, are Radishes that have gone to seed any good to eat / sell at market? I have some Radish that have not gone to seed yet but are huge compared to what I have seen on other folks stands would these BIG Radishes be any good?
Thanks for the input!

Radishes that have gone to seed are not very good. They get woody/pithy and taste terrible. If you have radishes like Sparkler, Cherry Belle, French Breakfast they are best when they are smaller, maybe an inch or so across. They mature quickly in warmer weather (28 days from seeding) so you need to be ready to sell them fast. I pulled and composted about 100' this spring because they were just too big. Hope this helps.

My radishes didn't even get to eating size before they bolted. Good thing I'm not a huge radish fan, drooling eagerly over them as they grew. Planted them for the heck of it. Now I just say "aaawww heck".

This year, our radishes are very small without hardly any tops. The customers like them, but I don't.

My radishes are huge now and most of the plants have bolted. I sold some bunches of the smaller, better ones last weekend and sold out of them so quickly I was surprised. The rest of them are going to the compost pile unfortunately. Spring is officially over here in southeastern Kansas. My little 1 year old daughter is enjoying the pretty purple flowers right now though:)
