Greenhouse for market garden

I am looking for a little advice on greenhouse selection. Essentially, it will be for starting plants, not season extension or anything like that. The market garden will probably be only two acres or so initially. How much room do I need simply for plant propogation on this type of acreage? I live in SW Louisiana so the temps in the winter or pretty mild. Would it necessary to heat the greenhouse?

I keep looking at this in the list of threads and hoping someone could be helpful. There isn't enough information to be able to give you a good answer. What are you going to grow that will need to be started in a greenhouse? My market garden is an acre. My seedling house is 12 x 24. I have seedlings in it from April through July. As some are transplanted others are started for succession planting.

There isn't enough information to know whether you'll need to heat the greenhouse. What will you start? How cold will it be at the coldest time?

Tell us everything you can think of and maybe we can be more helpful.

Sorry! My market garden will be about two acres. While many of the crops that grow down here will be direct seeded, such as southern peas, sweet corn, okra and snap beans, I need to start plants for melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, squash and cole crops in the winter. Down here it is possible to have something going all year long, even seeding cukes, toms and the like in January. The temperature in the winter is pretty mild averaging in the mid-40's. However, we are capable of some pretty cold snaps and freezes that can last around three days.
In the summer, we can still start plants for the fall. Toms, squash, cukes, eggplant, peppers, etc all get started in July for the fall garden. It is really hot and humid down here at that time, averaging highs well into the 90's and lows (if we're lucky) in the low 70's. Super humid. Feels like your walking in a warm bath!
So, to summarize, I would be starting things pretty much all year long, enduring some short cold freezes and some really hot humid weather. About 70% of my crops would have to be started in the greenhouse. Let me know if I haven't answered any important questions. Still learning here! Thanks!
