RE: Ristras

We do something at the other end of the spectrum -- small swags (one or two branches, 5-9 peppers) of "Nipon Taku" peppers, tied together with rafia for hanging. The peppers are sold as ornaments although they are edible, just blisteringly hot. We charge about $3.00 for them.

We go this route because our typical customers are city dwellers living in small houses/apartments/dorm rooms and are pressed for space or, if they wanted and had room for full-blown ristras, can get them at ethnic markets for fairly low prices.
