Fresh Blackeyed Peas. Keep on Ice?

| I have noticed that many venders at the market I shop at sell their fresh blackeyed peas in a plastic bag just sitting on the table. When you pick up the bags you can tell they are just ambeint temperature.Of the two bags that I have purchased both were spoiled. Shouldn't fresh blackeyed peas be kept, at least, cool. The ambient temerature at this market in the summer is mid 80's by late morning. Note these are fresh not dried. |
