Devrinol Crop Rotation Restrictions

We used Devrinol preemergent herbicide for tomatoes this year with fair results - but not really impressive enough to justify the crop rotation restrictions (12 mos for unlabelled crops and then only after deep plowing with a moldboard).

We want to plant brassica greens in that field now - only 7 mos after the herbicide application. Devrinol is labelled for heading brassicas (broc, caul & cabbage) only. We can't understand why leafing brassicas would not be tolerant as well - same family, etc ??? So I called the United Phosphorous customer service number and the rep said he could only go by the label, but couldn't think of any reason why leafy brssicas aren't included.

I would like to plant mustard, collards and turnips there on 9/15, gambling that a brassica is a brassica is a brassica. But it's our policy to never get off-label - even a little bit.

Seems like there has to be some reason only heading, and not leafing, brassicas are on the label. Anybody know why?
