| I have been selling for 4 year now. Red tomatoes always sell the best. I have tried many colors and red is King. With that said, Cherokee Purple are very popular too. I continue to grow different colors, probably will continue to, because if catches peoples eye and makes them stop. If they are interested in tomatoes and buy some red ones, I usually throw in another colored one and I usually make the sale again the next week. Where I sell, people don't/won't pay higher prices for heirloom types. I think next year, I will grow more hybrids and less heirlooms. I get more dependable yields. I grew Jetstar, BHN 640, Big Beef and Lemon Boy in my hoop building last year. They did great. People always told me they tasted wonderful. I guess if the customers are happy, then I am happy! Jay |
