I don't speak or read French, so I was just able to look at the pictures. Those are huge. I don't know if I could sell anything that size. My customers like them the pencil size to size of my thumb. Any bigger, doesn't sell for me.

I love huge asparagus and the purple kinds do indeed get big. My customers have been educated to know the fatter the spear the more tender it is so I sell a lot of fat spears. I have cut purple spears that were over 1/3 pound in weight (about 1.5" across)

That's awesome boulderbelt! Yum. I always make sure to get the first cut when they come out at the grocery store in spring when they are the biggest.

I suppose it's a question of taste but I don't like the skinny ones nearly as much. They are only preferable if you want them cooked crispy.
