storage root veggies

Sincere apologies if I've double posted. Didn't think that the last one went through an hour ago.

Our farm has 2 new walk in coolers. We're wondering what the best bins/boxes would be for storing root veggies, as well as the usual beans/peas.

At the moment, we're using wax coated produce boxes.

But, for the turnips, beets, carrots, etc., what are best kinds of bins to use?

Someone here mentioned plastic garbage cans, but we're not sure if we have to use food grade plastic for the root veggies.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
