| I noticed in another post that you sell dried oregano. I am just starting out with marketing things from my 'farmlet'. In preparation for retirement I am trying to take baby steps in learning how to package and price stuff - this forum has tons of great ideas.
Back to the oregano - Small containers in the grocery store seem to average between 1/2 and 1 oz. What size package do you sell to your customers? |

Thanks so much for the info. You are so right about people thinking that they should pay less. The farm store where I sell my eggs had a guy complaining about the price of the locally grown heritage chicken. The owner told him that she didn't carry the type of chicken he was looking for - he needed to go across the street to the grocery store for that :-). At the moment people who shop there are willing to pay just slightly more for food but I think that is changing and more people in this are realizing what it takes to produce quality food. Again, thanks for the info - and I probably will look you up as I get more involved. |
