Hi, now that mellinger's is going out of business I'm looking for low cost seed starting trays and cells and the internet search is going a bit rough. I like the 96 cells for the 1020 trays but can use the 72 cells. I'm loooking for price. need a carton of 25 or 100 if price is right.

Mark

found a few sources but cost plus shipping is the same for local hardware store for 72 cells. so I guess I'll go that way for now.

Try E&R seeds. They have great prices. But they are an Amish company so you will have to write them requesting a cataloug

I was wondering what the deal was with E & R Seeds and no phone. Their prices are very reasonable, and they have a very good selection of other farm and garden needs. I've been doing business with them for just a few years.

Here is their address:

Monroe, IN 46772

Mark,

Does Wyatt-Quarles in Garner carry what you're looking for?

We went to E&R to pick stuff up last year (my parents live close to them.) It was so weird. There were lots of Amish young girls (13-16) pulling orders. It was cold and they all had shaws on. There were no lights in the building, just the windows.

But there prices are quite good, and we have (generally) had excellent luck with their seeds.

anyone using 'speedling' trays? they are styrofoam, very rigid and easy to carry, and last for years. The design features upside-down pyramid shaped cells, which are air-pruning type and very easy to pop-out by pushing up from the bottom.

I used them years ago and am considering them again.
If anyone knows of retail sources(less than case lots) for speedling or winstrip trays, I'd like to know.

Check eBay. I see a lot of seed starting items there.

I agree with Toyon, try Ebay, there are some sellers that have free shipping and give bonus packs as well. Good luck
