sizing rings

I am frustrated as I am trying to find hand held sizing rings for onions and garlic. I would also like one for my apples. I lost the catalog that sold them and a search on the net finds only a source in England. If anyone knows where I can find this product I would appreciate a source.

Second question is that although I am growing garlic and onions I think that I would like to move in to shallots. I have no idea what the price is on this in the marketplace to determine if it is worth my time to start growing it next year. My bulb supplier has a good price, but the fact is that I have a hard time competing with the larger organic growers in California when they are $1.20 to $1.50 a pound for their organic onions and I am at $2.00

Being the penny pincher I am I probably would get a peice of 3/4" plywood and find someone with the correct sized hole saws to grade. You could use a small roundover bit in a router to ease the top edge to prevent the sharp edge from damaging the bulbs as they are passed. Grade sizes can be found on the USDA website.
