I will 'live' with whatever is passed and signed into law, but until that time, I'm not going to worry about it. I believe that there is not MUCH that I can do when 'our' politicans have made up their minds. I am a small farmer, well below what USDA defines, and I sell very little produce not produced within 150 miles. I could only sell what I personally grow, but it would cut my sales way down, and therefore be even a smaller farmer.

I won't know how if effects me until the final rules are done and signed into law.

I have no idea how this will effect me. perhaps it will affect me like the Homeland security Admin;s requirement that ALL farms have to register with them or face fines and jail time. This was ti have happened in 2002. I have yet to register my farm with them and have yet to have a visit or letter from the government about this issue.

I suspect because this food safety bills is so big and will have to first cover the huge multinational industrial food farms and factories that it will be a long time before they pay much attention to us little guys, especially with the tester-Hagan Amendment passing with the rest of the bill that exempts around 99% of all small farmers from needing to deal with the FDA.

So I am going into 2011 as if nothing has changed (and really nothing will for at least 12 months, probably longer than that before the bill becomes law and when law they start enacting that law.)
