Wrong pepper seeds

Last year I ordered my pepper seeds from 2 different places.
A few of my seeds were the wrong seeds. Did anyone else have the same problem? I ordered most of my seeds from Totally Tomatoes and Pinetree Gardens.
Thanks,
UKMom

RE: Wrong pepper seeds

We ordered NuMex Joe E Parker Anaheim peppers from High Mowing seed, and later got a notice that they sent us NuMex Bailey, a Piquin type pepper that is supposed to be hotter than habenaros. Other than that, everything was right.

RE: Wrong pepper seeds

Joe E Parker variety is personal favorite for anaheim taste in a roasting pepper, with surprising earliness, & not being hot enough to burn a customer; hybrids & bigger size varieties never were better.
I find Redwood City Seeds very generous in their pepper packets; world wide varieties sold, they know their stuff & sell bulk on some.
Go to them online & review their free pepper growing tips.
For my Pinetree & Totally Tom orders of other things I am satisfied.

RE: Wrong pepper seeds

One type of peppers that I grew last year that was suppose to be bell peppers turned out to be hot. I did not realize this till I gave some of my peppers to my mother, who hates hot things. I don't think they were as hot as she made them out to be but never the less I was very disappointed.

I then got worried that they would cross-pollinate with the rest of my non-hot bell peppers, but they never did.

I did not order this particular package of seeds. They were an impulse buy, which looked interesting. It wasn't a common brand of seeds either. I defiantly will not be growing them again this year.

I have also come across other mixed up seeds before in the past. It seems like most of my problems are with store bought seeds verses mail ordered ones.
