He was at the right place at the right time. Good for him. I hope he got a reasonable price, alot of restuarants want the produce, but don't want to pay a decent price for it.

Local retail (if you can find it) for okra is $6+ a pound. He was getting about $3 or $4, with 50 or so pounds a week. Okra grows extremely well here.

I don't know his pricing on the cukes - I know he was harvesting 50+ pounds a week before the collapse. Unlike the typical salad cukes, Armenian cukes stay firm when you cook them in curry, so they are in demand.

Sounds great to me,because okra is $3.00 lbs. here in Tulsa retail. I sell about 20lbs a day. It takes me an hour and a half to pick it.I could sell more,but it is too time comsumming.
