| I notice there are no responses from more experienced propagation experts to your inquiry so I'll try to get you started. Since I have no idea what kind of conditions as to climate, materials or time and experience you are dealing with please bear with me if I don't get the info range right. There are several ways to sucessfully propagate conifers from cuttings. Using a rooting hormone and rooting them is good and about 75% sucessful. Some sources report dusting a graft join with the rooting hormone will increase the callus formation where the two cambium layers connect. One of those links is below. I don't do a lot of grafting. I do know enough to show the process to students in MG training. Where they take it from there is pretty much up to them. I can probably post more specific info if you need it. Make special note of the suggested timing of collecting the material. The presence of more natural auxins (growth hormones) is essential to the success of the graft. Sandy |
