Just Got the Call !!!

| I just got accepted into the Louisiana Master Gardener's Program. I can't wait to get started.:) Been gardening for most of life but need to take it to the next level. Once I complete the program I hope to start a horticulture/gardening club at the school where I teach. Has anyone done this? I just need to write some by-laws. The amazing thing is plant physiology has been removed from our biology program (the only students who complete this section are the ones whose parents won't let them take sex-ed). Anyway the excitement level is pretty high right now, I hope I'm not disappointed. |

Jim, Congratulations.
"I hope I'm not disappointed" If you've read some of the posts on this Forum, you'll see that the Master Gardeners are pretty much like any other organization. Regarding the classes, you'll take out what you put in. Just like any school there are good speaker and boring speakers. Regarding the people, they're the same as in any club or organization just we know a lot of botanical names. Have a great time! Billie |

Congratulations on "your call." You're gonna love it, I think. I've been in the Texas Master Gardeners for 10 years, have even been teaching some of the classes the last few years, and am still learning. Be careful with those by-laws--try to keep them to one page if you can so they're easy to use and change. Best of luck.
